A night can push you into a dark future

An unhopeful, encumbered, laden future

Traverse a path with sights unknown

My one companion, long gone

The sun rises and a new day dawns

Mysterious ways, shrouded all along

I resume my normal activities per say

Keeping my grief and my tears at bay

I don’t look back, I don’t ponder

At a decision that, twelve hours ago, seemed like one big blunder

O naïve dweller! You lived in my heart

An imprint you are now, of memories past

The day seems to draw to a close,

And throughout the day, I was no longer morose

But when darkness sets in again

It’s all about the pain

The dusk, unimpeded..
